Reliance to complete Fiber Connection to St. George, Ut.
Reliance Connects will complete 96 pair fiber optic cable from Mesquite to St. George, Utah by the end of the 1st Quarter of 2009. The fiber optic route connects to the QWEST Fiber optic infrastructure and is capable of providing the fastest Ethernet data speeds required by todays high tech businesses. This redundant path was built to enhance the fiber connection to Las Vegas, Nevada built in 1997.
Reliance has over 220 miles of fiber optic network within our serving area. In the last five years, we have spent over $14,500,000 to ensure Mesquite stays ahead of the technological needs for our community. We built the first fiber optic network in Mesquite in 1995. Our fiber optic backbone serves the entire City of Mesquite.
